The John C. Garand Match is the CMP’s most popular CMP Games event held during the National Matches. The course of fire is the CMP John C. Garand A – 30 rounds (200 yards) 15 shots slow – fire prone (first 5 shots are sighters); 10 shots rapid – fire prone; 10 shots slow fire standing. All shot from 200 yards.

Location and Directions to Range:
From South of York: Take I-83 N to Rt. 30 East to Mt. Zion Rd. (north)
From Reading, PA area: Take Rt. 222 South to Rt. 30 West to Mt. Zion Rd. (north)
From Philadelphia area: Take PA Turnpike (I-76 W) to I-83 S (exit 18) to Rt. 30 East to Mt. Zion Rd. (north) Then: Take Mt. Zion Road (north) past Galleria Mall; Turn right onto Druck Valley Road; Turn left onto Range Road; entrance to York Riflemen is located at the top of the hill on the right.

Open to: US citizens eligible per CMP rules. Shooters under 18 must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian.

Participants must obtain and retain on file a notarized Eligibility Affidavit and Liability Agreement. These forms are available at the CMP website at http://thecmp.org/competitions/forms/ (*not necessary if you already have an affidavit on file with the CMP)

Entry fee: $20

Registration: 7:30 a.m., Match begins at 8:30 a.m.
First shot 30 minutes after registration. Be on time.

Course of Fire: CMP John C. Garand A – 30 rounds, 200 yards
Service rifle and other shooters may elect to fire:
Garand B – 50 rounds, 200 yards. Service rifles will shoot reduced targets simulating 200, 300, and 600 yds.
Stages are fired in reverse order from Slow Prone to Standing

Governing Rules: Civilian Marksmanship Program Competition Rules
Awards: CMP Achievement Pins for each Garand, Springfield, and Vintage (not for service rifle.)
General Information: Hearing and eye protection is mandatory.

***** As a reminder, M2 Ball will NOT be issued to competitors firing Garand and Springfield rifles starting with the October match. However, M2 Ball may be purchased for $20 for 40 rounds for the match only. *****

Shooting mat or 2′ by 6′ piece of carpeting is recommended.
Bring water/drinks, lunch, etc.

Eligible rifles include M1 Garand, M1903 Springfield, M1 Carbine, other vintage military rifles (Enfield, Mauser, etc.). Rifles must be “as issued” per CMP rules.
Eligible service rifles per CMP rules (AR15, M1A, M1 Garand National Match).
